Recently I encountered a problem - my dog did not want to come on command. I tried different tips, but it was of little use. Then I came across an article on how to teach your dog to come. Everything is written very clearly, step by step. I especially liked that the emphasis is on positive reinforcement - without shouting and punishment. I started to apply the recommendations and literally in a few days I noticed progress. The dog became more attentive, more willing to come, especially when a game or a treat is used. I was glad that the article also discusses typical mistakes - I was making one of them, and now I understand why nothing worked.

I recently asked myself this question, and I will gladly share my experience! Teaching a dog the “Come to me” command turned out to be easier than I thought, the main thing is patience and consistency. I started by choosing a quiet place without distractions. Every time I called the dog by name and said “Come to me”, I showed a treat in a happy tone. As soon as she came up, I immediately encouraged her: a treat, praise, petting. We repeated this several times a day, and after a week she began to respond clearly. It is especially important not to scold the dog if she does not come up right away - so that she does not associate the command with negativity. Gradually, I began to complicate it - I called from a greater distance, tried it outside. Now she runs up instantly, even if there are other dogs nearby! The main thing is to be kind and consistent. This is not only discipline, but also a real strengthening of the bond between the owner and the pet.
